EPA Flood Control Project Underway

MPFPD CERTs have had flood mitigation and response on their minds for many years, particularly along the area in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto along San Francisquito Creek and the Baylands. Last year saw a number of CERT members take a special course on sandbagging. The San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority has a long-range plan to help control flooding along the length of the creek that is the subject of much consideration and debate.

A recent article in the Almanac announced that work has begin on long-awaited mitigation of flood prone areas in East Palo Alto:
