FEMA Releases Wildfire Toolkit

posted Jul 10, 2015, 9:06 AM by Steve Taffee
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released an updated version of information about wildfires to help homeowners protect life and property. The western borders of the Menlo Park Fire district are particularly at risk for wildfire. Should a wildfire occur in these areas, CERT members could be called upon to provide support to the fire district.

California's drought has left the entire state especially vulnerable to wildfires.

The FEMA materials may be found here: https://www.community.fema.gov/connect.ti/readynpm/view?objectId=3240304 Included are a PFD file with basic information for distribution to all citizens in wildfire areas, as well as a number of graphic files that could be used to create individual flyers suitable for posting in cafes, businesses, community bulletin boards, and other highly trafficked locations.
