CERT REFRESHER- Triage & Hands-on First Aid Skills Day

CERT members will have an opportunity to refresh the skills needed to confidently triage and treat patients during an emergency.

What you will learn:

- The triage system and the steps needed to rapidly assess patients in order to sort them by medical need priority.

- Refresh the first aid skills that you learned during your Basic CERT training. We will focus on practicing hands-on skills, such as splinting, bandaging, bleeding control, and lifting and carrying. This is not a first aid class, but rather a chance to refresh and practice and get coaching from our instructors.

Since the training will focus on hands-on skills, you will be spending a good part of the day on your feet, bending, lifting, and kneeling. Please dress in clothing that allows you to move freely and close toed footwear is advised.

We will be working in close proximity to each other so masks will be required and all students must, on arrival at the training location, provide proof of current Covid-19 vaccination. A Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record issued by the State of California is preferred. https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/

This training will take place at Menlo Fire’s USAR warehouse facility located in East Palo Alto. The address will be sent to you after you register.
