This training provides an overview of disaster relief shelter organization and operations, as well as the roles and responsibilities of volunteers working in a shelter. Topics that will be covered include:
• Shelter opening and operating procedures • Identification and use of available resources to assist shelter workers • Working as a team to provide quality shelter services to clients • Addressing common shelter problems effectively
Since we will be working in close proximity to each other, masks will be required and all students must, on arrival at the training location, provide proof of current Covid-19 vaccination. A Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record issued by the State of California is preferred.
